# PvM (Capture Mode & Lootbags)

**How Does Capture Mode Work?**

To begin capture mode, you need to burn a pass to encounter a Tokiemon. Once the pass is used, you encounter a Wild Tokiemon. From there you must defeat it with the active Tokiemon in your party going into the encounter.

**What Happens If I Defeat a Wild Tokiemon?**

Wild Tokiemon contain lots of fun loot, including:

* **Lootbags** - Redeemable for Crafting Items, Passes, or Lootbox Keys
* **Lootbox Keys** - Usable on the [Lootbox](https://tokiemon.gitbook.io/tokiemon/basics/items-equipment-and-lootboxes) in Adventure Mode
* **Mana** - Points to level up your Tokiemon
* **Auras** - Very rare Items for your Tokiemon, reserved for a special slot
* **Skins** - Special items for your character that change the appearance of your avatar
* **Paintbrushes** - Extremely rare items that can be used to change the art of your Tokiemon

**What Happens If I Capture a Wild Tokiemon?**

If you like the artwork of a wild Tokiemon, you can attempt to capture it, which requires a Tokieball of any type. Different Tokieballs have different capture likelihoods & all factors explained below play into the likelihood as well.

Upon a successful capture, you will mint the Tokiemon into your party with level 1 across all stats. A rarity for that tokiemon will randomly be generated based on the same odd you'd have if you minted said Tokiemon.

*Note: You cannot capture free tier tokiemon*

**What Factors Play a Role in Defeating or Capturing a Tokiemon?**

The active tokiemon you have when starting an encounter plays the most important role:

1. **Tokiemon Tier** - From worst to best: Free, Kawaii, Dragon, Degen.
2. **Tokiemon Rarity** - From worst to best: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary
3. **Tokiemon Level** - The higher level your Tokiemon, the better odds it has in battle.
4. **Equipment** - Equipment can contribute to the overall skill levels & overall likelihood of winning.
5. **Energy** - Don't go into an encounter with low energy!
